Train passengers should wrap up this Christmas as waiting rooms at Leicester train station will be closed for almost two months.

The rooms are due to be closed for refurbishment from December 17 to February 1.

The refurbishment includes new seats, a new paint job and a large TV screen in the wall.

East Midlands Trains announced the work on Twitter today.

In the tweet, they said: "From 17th December until 1st February the waiting rooms at Leicester will be closed for refurbishment.

"Please bear with us during this time."

The waiting room update comes six years after the station underwent a £6 million upgrade.
