In a statement, Hinckley police said: "He was approached by a man on a motorbike who kicked and punched him.

"As he tried to leave, the victim was further assaulted by another man who pulled him back and hit him.

"The victim sustained injuries to his wrist, shoulder and cheekbone which were treated at hospital. He has since been discharged.

"This was a nasty assault carried out at a time of day when there would have been people out and about.

"We would like to speak to anyone who was in Park Road, close to the bridge on Parson’s Lane, and saw or heard anything suspicious at the time."
