A mugger forced a man to hand over his cash before attacking him again a short time later.

The victim was initially targeted on a footpath on the Freemans Meadow estate, off Upperton Road, near Leicester City's King Power Stadium.

A short time later, in nearby Upperton Road, the man attacked him again - this time by grabbing the victim and forcing him to the ground.

An appeal for information was posted on Facebook this evening by the Fosse, West End and New Parks neighbourhood policing team.

The attack happened around 4.30pm on Thursday, July 11.

In the post, the team said: "The victim, a man in his 30s, was approached by another man who stopped him and took money from him.

"A short time later, on Upperton Road, the victim was grabbed from behind by the same man and pulled to the floor."
