Masked thieves broke into a house and threatened the terrified occupiers with a knife, crowbar and baseball bat.

Detectives said the three armed men wore balaclavas as they entered the property in Hill Drive, Lutterworth, where they demanded the victims hand over keys to an Audi RS6 parked in the driveway.

The aggravated burglary took place at about 8.15pm on Sunday, according to Leicestershire Police.

A spokesman for the force said: “Three men, each wearing balaclavas, broke into the house and threatened two occupants with a knife, crowbar and baseball bat.

“The men took keys to an Audi RS6 which was parked on the driveway and left the scene in the car.

“It is not believed that anything else was taken during the incident.”

Investigators are urging witnesses, or anyone with information about the perpetrators, to come forward.

Detective Constable James Collins said: “This appears to have been a completely unprovoked incident where the occupants of the house have been threatened in their own home

“It’s believed that the men drove off in the direction of Lutterworth Road immediately after leaving the scene.”

He added: “The car that was taken – a grey Audi RS6 – has a private registration plate and would therefore probably stand out to many people.

“I’m therefore appealing for anyone who has seen a car that they believe may be the one that was stolen to come forward.

“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could help with my investigation.”

Anyone with information should call the police on the 101 number.
