The family of a schoolgirl killed in a collision with a bus outside her school in Coalville has set up a memorial fund to help provide her with a fitting funeral.

Sian Ellis, 15, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, outside King Edward VII school, last Monday.

Her family have set up the fund on the gofundme website to help pay for her funeral.

A spokesman on behalf of the Ellis family said: "As most of you are aware our beautiful Sian was taken from us on Monday January 28 in a horrific accident outside her school.

"Sian was only 15 years old, she was loved by so many, and we would love to raise as much money as we can to make sure she has the best send off possible.

"She would have been going to her prom this year and celebrated her 16th birthday.

"These are milestones that no parent wants to have taken away from them, so we have decided that we will do our very best to grant Sian's prom wishes that she was already preparing for and have purchased the dress she chose. She will have her special day, she will go to the ball.

"She wanted a horse horse and carriage or a white limo, we want to give her both.

"I myself have been inundated with condolences and offers of donations and until now we have not been able to face setting anything up, we have now been told she’s coming home to us and therefore arrangements have to be made."
