A moped rider has been taken to hospital after a collision with car in Loughborough.
Leicestershire Police advised motorists to avoid the area after confirming several road closures, in Ling Road, Shelthorpe Road and Allendale Road.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the crash scene, in Ling Road, shortly before 9.30am today.
People living in the area reported seeing the helimed landing in nearby playing fields off Farnham Road.
A police spokeswoman said: "We received a call from the ambulance service at 9.30am to a collision involving a moped and a car.
"The moped rider was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, in Nottingham."
She added: "Ling Road and nearby roads were closed while the incident was dealt with."
The extent of the casualty's injuries or their condition is not yet known.
They remain closed while accident investigators examine the scene.
