The O2 network is experiencing technical difficulties with customers being left unable to use 4G.

Customers across the East Midlands and the rest of the country have reported problems with their mobile data.

A statement on the O2 website said: "Our technical teams are investigating reports of issues when using data. Voice calls are working OK.

"We apologise for any inconvenience.

"Updates will be shared here as soon they are available."

On an interactive tool on the O2 website where you can type your location, another warning appears stating that the phone network is investigating reports that a phone mast isn't working in our area.

Customers could experience problems with 4G and making calls.

The site also advises people to try switching their device off and on again.

Leicestershire O2 users are not impressed with the situation.

One took to Twitter to say: " @O2 thanks for the no data this morning, need satnav on phone for appointments today, NOT IMPRESSED!"

Another said: "It's not just data though. My entire network has been going offline intermittently! I sincerely hope you are refunding your customers that are affected by this issue."
