Police have issued an update on the two people arrested in connection with a stabbing at a city centre restaurant on Monday night.

The arrests were made after two 19-year old men were treated for stab wounds following a fight at American-style diner Tinseltown in Upper Brown Street.

They were both taken to hospital for treatment, and have since been discharged.

Two men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 23-year old, who was arrested at an address in Vancouver Road, St Matthews, Leicester, has since been released with no further action.

The 22-year old, who was arrested at an arrested in Edmonton Road, also in St Matthews, has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police have taped off an area in Upper Brown Street Leicester following a knife crime incident

Investigators still want to speak to anyone who was in the area of Upper Brown Street on Monday evening who has not yet come forward.
