Just when you thought we might get a few days respite from the rain the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms.

Forecasters say that more poor weather may develop between 6pm tomorrow and 9pm on Wednesday.

It could lead to heavy rain, hail and lightning.

The warning is in place for a huge chunk of England, including the East Midlands.

The Met Office say: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.

"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services."

The forecast for Leicester until Wednesday is good, with a warm sunny day predicted today.

Tuesday is also warm and cloudy, with a 50% chance of rain between 3-5pm.

There's a good chance of rain on Wednesday though, with a 50% chance of wet weather between 7am-4pm.

Leicestershire has been battered by wind and rain in the last week, with near constant rain causing real issues before Download Festival started.

The weekend was better though, with spells of sunshine punctuating the rain.

There is good news though - when they last reported Severn Trent said our reservoirs were nearly 90% full.
