The closures are from Desford Crossroads to the Dans Lane junction, west of Leicester Forest East.

Traffic is flowing as normal once again after the earlier closure. Police tweeted: “The road is running clear.”

The A47 Hinckley Road has reopened between the Desford turn at Dan’s Lane and Desford Crossroads
Van and car involved in the crash
The collision at the A47 Hinckley junction with Dan’s Lane, the turn for Desford, involved a car and a van, according to police.
A force spokeswoman said: “Two vehicles were involved, a car and a van. One casualty required hospital treatment but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.
“The A47 remains closed between Desford Crossroads and Dan’s Lane.”
