Wind and torrential rain caused disruption across Leicestershire on Tuesday and a yellow weather warning remains in force today.

The Met Office put a yellow warning in place across the city and county from 4am Monday morning, indicating that heavy prolonged rainfall could lead to local flooding and disruption to transport.

And on Tuesday the weather duly delivered uprooted trees, blocked roads and treacherous conditions across the area.

Several roads remain flooded today, Slash Lane and Mountsorrel Lane in Charnwood, and Watery Gate Lane near Hinckley.

A yelow alert remains in place until Thursday, and forecasters predict another band of heavy rain is set to hit the region on Wednesday afternoon.
