Police have today confirmed that a body found during searches as missing 21-year-old Fraser Smith.

A hunt was launched after the Coalville man was reported missing from home last week.

He was reported to have visited an Asda store at 2.50pm on the day that he went missing and his family had said that it was completely out of character for him to go missing.

The body was found in nearby Thringstone on Monday evening.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "Officers carrying out enquiries into the disappearance of a Coalville man have formally identified a body which was discovered in Thringstone on Monday evening, October 29.

"Formal identification has confirmed that the body was of 21-year-old Fraser Smith.

"Fraser was reported missing from his home address in Coalville on Friday (26 October).

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
