Passengers have criticised a bus company for failing to advertise plans to scrap routes and changes to timetables.

As a result people say they have been late for work or school, been left waiting at bus stops as packed vehicles drive past or forced to stand in the door way of overcrowded buses.

Leicestershire Live asked Arriva for a full list of the changes already made and for details of the services that will change at the start of December.

Here's what they said...

Changes that took effect on November 18

11 Coalville - Agar Nook

Arriva says changes have been made to 'better match the travel patterns of our customers and improve punctuality.'

In the mornings, service 11 will operate directly via Greenhill Road out to Agar Nook, then back into town via Cropston Drive, Woodhouse Road and Northfield Drive. In the afternoons, buses will be numbered 11A and operate via Northfield Drive, Woodhouse Road and Cropston Drive on their way out to Agar Nook and then fast via Greenhil Road back to the town centre.

15 Coalville – Ibstock

Arriva says that 'the frequency of this service is being revised to reflect the change in customer demand'.

Buses will now operate every 30 minutes Monday to Friday, the same frequency as they currently run on Saturdays.

26 Coalville – Leicester

Arriva says there will be some 'minor' changes made to the times of certain journeys 'to help improve punctuality'.

Changes are being made to Arriva timetables

29/29A Leicester - Coalville - Swadlincote – Burton

Arriva says that passenger demand has dropped and the timetable is being changed to 'more efficiently meet the needs of the community'.

Most journeys of service 29A will now terminate at Swadlincote with service 29 continuing through to Burton up to every hour through the day. Services between Swadlincote and Burton will continue to operate their current route through Stanton and Stapenhill and will not be returning to the previous route along Ashby Road. Other services are available from Beaufort Road, Vancouver Drive, Highbank Road and Stapenhill Road.

Elsewhere on the route, New Packington on the way in to Ashby will no longer be serviced 'due to very low levels of usage'.

Service 29A will operate via Flagstaff Island.

Double decker vehicles will be introduced on peak journeys to 'better support the needs of those travelling for work or education'.

31/31A/31E Oadby – Leicester

There will be some alterations made to the times of the last evening journeys on this service. Arriva has not given a reason for the changes to this service.

84/85 Leicester - Blaby - Lutterworth/Countesthorpe

Timings along this route are being altered 'to not only improve punctuality, but to also better fit in with the shift patterns of employees at the Cambridge Road Industrial Estate'. Arriva says the changes are as a direct result of passenger feedback.

67 Nuneaton - MIRA Technology Park – Hinckley

The 9.30am journey from Nuneaton to MIRA Technology Park will no longer operate, but Arriva says that there will be an alternative journey on service 65, which departs at 9.10am.

X84 Leicester - Lutterworth – Rugby

There will be some 'minor changes' made to the times of some early morning journeys to 'help improve punctuality'. A number of early and late journeys will no longer operate over sections of the route due to 'very low demand'.

From Sunday December 2, the following changes will come into force...

5/5A/X5 Leicester - East Goscote - Melton Mowbray

Along with some 'minor timing changes' there will be an additional early morning X5 journey from Leicester to the Samworth Brothers' factory at Melton. A number of afternoon return journeys from Melton to Leicester will serve Samworth's rather than Asfordby.

6 Leicester – Thurmaston

There will be changes made to the times of some journeys to 'help improve punctuality with no changes to the route or frequency'.

153 Leicester - Market Bosworth

Arriva says: "The timetable of this service is revised to better match customer demand and ensure it remains financially sustainable.

"The service will now operate hourly, with the short journeys between Leicester and Newbold Verdon withdrawn.

"Most journeys will extend from Market Bosworth Square out to Bosworth Water Park and the Battlefield Line Railway as a result of customer feedback."

152 Leicester - Desford (Peckleton Lane)

This is a new service Arriva is introducing between Leicester and Desford, which they say is 'ideal for shift workers' at Neovia Logistics and Caterpillar. Buses will drop-off/pick-up from Neovia’s Building 1 as well as on Peckleton Lane.
