Inside Hinckley's old leisure centre before it was demolished
It's been three years since it was razed to the ground
It's been three years since Hinckley's new leisure centre was built in Argents Mead.
Before then the site in Coventry Road was the place to go for swimmers and sporty types in need of some exercise.
The old leisure centre was built in 1977 but was boarded up shortly after the new site was opened.
A few months later it was demolished and now the site is empty.
It's been suggested that a hotel could be built on the site, but most recently a planning application was put in to build 17 houses and 89 apartments on the site.
That application went in last December, but a decision hasn't been made on it according to the council's planning portal.
Amended plans for the site were submitted in March.
The old leisure centre was the site of many a party, before it was demolished in 2016.

The old sports hall was the site of games of basketball, badminton and 5-a-side. It also was used for antiques fairs and election counts

Plenty of swimming lessons were held in the third pool round the corner, which could also be lowered for diving lessons. There also used to a be a flume here, but that was removed years ago.

There are no squash courts at the new leisure centre, which led to Hinckley Squash Club opening a new base in Coventry Road.
