A woman from Melton Mowbray who has battled with heroin and crack addiction for 15 years has undergone an amazing transformation.

Kristie appeared on Jeremy Kyle on ITV this week after spending 12 weeks in rehab, which had been organised for her last time she was on the show.

When she returned to show her transformation, the audience was left stunned by the massive change, reports the Mirror Online.

She admitted she had resorted to sleeping in car parks and conning people on the street out of money and could only inject into her thighs because the veins on the rest of her body were "busted".

After some tough love from Jeremy, who said that it was a "miracle she was still alive", the show arranged for Kristie to go to rehab.

"Oh my god, it's like a new person," Jezza gasped.

Kristie explained the process: "My first night in rehab was really difficult because I had to go through a withdrawal process, so I had to go as long as possible through a detox before I could be stable on my medication.

"I know at one point I didn't feel very positive and I was really poorly, but now I've stabilised and on my medication it's a totally different story."

She added: "It's been tough, but my head's in the right place, I'm in the right place and I've got a really good support network."

Earlier in the programme, her mum Dominique was left horrified after coming face to face with her daughter's flat, which has been labelled a "death trap", for the first time.

Dominique sobbed as she saw her heroin addict daughter Kristie's home for the first time in six years.

Appearing on the Jeremy Kyle Show, Dominique watched in shock as cameras entered Kristie's home and showed her filthy flat full of rubbish.

Layering the floor were dozens of heroin needles as mouldy bowls of cereal spilled over the side of the table.

Christie admitted that she no longer had any electricity and that other addicts has trashed her house.

Speaking to Jeremy this week, she was asked why they were trying to get her help now.

"We're so desperate because she's going to die," Dominique said.

She revealed that she only became aware of her daughter's addiction while they were on holiday in Portugal and her crack dealer prevented her from leaving by taking her passport.

Kristie later joined her mum and Jezza on the stage, saying: "Because of my addiction all I eat is cereal... it's just about getting the next fix and the next fix."

Jeremy Kyle Show airs weekdays at 9.25am on ITV
