Aleysha is a chatty three-year-old girl who loves her tea set. Her brother Jayden, four, can name all of the makes and models of his toy cars.

They may seem and sound just like a normal brother and sister but they have already had to deal with a lot of change in their lives.

Currently they live with a foster carer. Jayden, who is a quiet little boy, is benefiting from one to one time with them and being with his sister.

The siblings, who have an understandably close bond, are now looking for a forever home.

They are just some of the kids in Leicestershire waiting to be adopted.

There are currently 18 children that Leicestershire County Council are ‘family-finding’ for.

Of the 18, there are seven sibling groups of two children. The youngest is a newborn baby and the oldest is eight-years-old and they all need people who will welcome them into their homes through adoption.

Katie is a beautiful, healthy newborn baby. The hope is that she will go straight to her forever family, enabling her to be settled at the earliest stage in life.

Leah has just turned eight-years-old and enjoys school, trampolining, gymnastics and chicken soup.

She needs a forever family who will be able to love, care and help her grow in confidence. Leah would fit into a family where she is the only child or the youngest child and with a parent or parents who have lots of time for her.

Anna is three-years-old and her foster carers describe her as a ‘busy bee’ who loves to be outdoors, especially in her Dora the explorer wellies. She is a loving big sister to Rosie who is five-months-old and loves to watch her big sister dancing.

One-year-old Demi-Lee is an inquisitive, happy and playful little girl who giggles a lot and is a delightful little character.

She has some health issues, but these are being monitored and she is progressing very well. She is now crawling and furniture surfing and keeping her foster carer very busy.

She needs a forever family, to support her heritage and life story and to support her progress.

And there are others too. All living with foster carers until a permanent home and new start can be found for them.

Councillor Ivan Ould, cabinet member for children and families, said: “These case studies detail just a few of the children currently in care awaiting their forever family.

“We would be delighted to hear from people who want to become parents and provide a loving home to a child through adoption.

“We want to hear from enthusiastic and caring people who are committed to sharing their lives with a child or children.”
