Cause of blaze under investigation

Fast action by staff at a Hinckley packaging company helped prevent a major blaze this evening.
Five fire crews from across the county, together with two specialist vehicles were called to DS Smith packaging in Brindley Road at 5pm.
Around 40 employees were safely evacuated from the building after fire broke out in a section of a 100-metre long corrugating machine.
Firefighters wearing breathing equipment tackled the blaze which was restricted to part of the machine.
No-one was injured.
Group Manager Simon Holden of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Thanks to excellent intervention by staff on site the fire was prevented from spreading further and was contained to one machine.”
James Hayward, sector director, said: “I was really impressed with the fire brigade’s response and compliments on our professionalism which has meant it was a relatively minor incident.”
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
