A road in Coalville has been shut by police after a lorry crashed into a bridge.
North West Leicestershire Police said on Facebook that Thornborough Road is currently closed after the incident.
The force has told drivers to avoid Mantle Lane bridge.

Road remains closed to traffic
Police have reported that although pedestrians are being allowed along the footpath, drivers are not being allowed to drive down the road.

A Network Rail engineer has said that pedestrians can use the footpath.

'Lorry is a bit of mess."
“The lorry was heading down from town towards the McDonald’s”, said an eye witness.
“It looks like the lorry has hit the bridge then been reversed back.
“It is parked up on the wrong side of the road. It looks a bit of mess. The road is still closed”
Network Rail are checking the bridge
Newtwork Rail are on the scene and are to check out the state of the bridge., said a company spokeswoman.
“We will be checking the integrity of the bridge to ascertain if any work needs to be done,” he said.
“The line over this bridge only carries freight trains. These trains are not due to run until later today so there has been minimal disruption.”
Lorry is stuck under the bridge
The lorry is stuck under the bridge, say police.
A force spokeswoman said: “We were called to report of a lorry stuck under the railway bridge on Mantle Lane at 1.33pm.
“It is believed no-one has been injured.
“we are diverting traffic away from the scene.
“We would advise drivers to avoid the area.”
HGV has hit the railway bridge on Mantle Lane
A HGV has hit the railway bridge on Mantle Lane, said a fire service spokeswoman.
“We were called at 1.42pm by the police to a report of a HGV which had crashed into a railway bridge on Mantle Lane, Coalville,” she said.
“There are no persons trapped. Police are on the scene.”
