Horses have wandered onto the M1 near Leicester, causing Highways England to completely shut the carriageway.
The incident is similar to one earlier this month which was blamed on inadequate fencing letting the animals stray onto the motorway.
Like the previous incident, the closure is between junctions 21a and 22. The motorway was closed in both directions at about 7.30am this morning.
Leicester's Area Traffic Control service reported "some loose horses are just being rounded up".
