Rum and raisin, bubblegum and candyfloss are just some of the 40 ice creams available to sample at Hinckley’s newest dessert parlour.

Delightful Desserts will host their grand opening on Monday February 25 but their indulgent sweet offerings have already left mouths salivating across the town.

The venue in Waterloo Road boasts an array of fresh waffles, crepes, cookie dough and sundaes as well as hot drinks and milkshakes with more treats yet to be added to the menu.

Owners, Joy and Kent Munns are looking forward to connecting with their new community.

They said: “We chose Hinckley as we know there is a lot of regeneration happening, it is very up and coming and there is nothing like what we offer around here.

“We want to give the people of Hinckley the opportunity to indulge in our delightful creations.

"We are a family business and our vibe and atmosphere is very friendly, we have been overwhelmed by the positive response in the area and already have many regular customers, we are looking forward to continuing to serve the lovely people of Hinckley and supporting the local community as much as possible.”

Customers will also be able to choose from a wide range of cakes, wafer baskets and good old fashioned puddings including apple crumble, syrup sponge and sticky toffee.

For those on a New Year health-kick, the dessert parlour also offers fruit smoothies and two varieties of fresh fruit platters loaded with strawberries, bananas and blueberries accompanied by a warm pot of chocolate dipping sauce.

As an extra special treat an option of afternoon tea will also be offered to guests which consists of handmade sandwiches, fresh cakes and scones with unlimited tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
