One person was rescued from their car after becoming trapped following a crash in a county road this afternoon (May 17).

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Wellsborough Road in Market Bosworth at around 5.15pm today after reports of a three car crash.

One person was assessed by East Midlands Ambulance Service on the scene, but the severity of their injuries in unknown.

One engine from the Market Bosworth station and one from Atherstone attended the scene of the crash.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said that they had since left the scene.

Traffic remains heavy on the road, and drivers have been advised to avoid the area.
