Imagine waking up to find half a set of false teeth on your doorstep.

That is exactly what happened to Emma Weston from Melton Mowbray.

Emma told LeicestershireLive: "I was just on my way to work at ten to nine this morning and I spotted them as I was leaving the house.

"We have a gravelled section with stepping stones and they were there just outside the front door.

"I picked them up and asked a neighbour if they knew who they belonged to."

After the neighbour said she was unaware of who they belonged to, Emma thought the best way to find the owner would be to post them on the Neighbourhood Watch Melton Mowbray group on Facebook.

The teeth were found outside a house in Melton Mowbray

She posted two pictures of the teeth on the drive with the comment "Delete if not allowed, this is clearly not Neighbourhood Watch related but in all seriousness has anyone lost their teeth?"

"Found them on my drive this morning, pretty much on my door step."

Since then, 31-year-old Emma explained that she had "loads of notifications" and that people had seen the funny side of the situation.

Emma explained "I was just baffled, I knew people would laugh but they are expensive things to replace."

"I know they can be costly and just wanted to reunite them with the right mouth."

Bizarrely, since the post went up earlier today, the teeth have been claimed.

Emma explained that the really strange thing about them was, if they were lost on the road, she couldn't understand how they ended up outside her front door on West Avenue as she has a path leading to the house.

It was suggested that a fox may have deposited them outside the front door after finding no use for them, as Emma has a dog that "always barks" if someone comes to the door.
