The sun is showing its face a bit more, it's lighter for longer, and the temperature is rising.

That means one thing - summer is on its way.

And when the weather is good, it really highlights how far away from the sea we are here in Leicestershire.

But don't despair because a beach has officially opened in Leicestershire ready for summer.

When you don't want to leave the county for a trip to Skeggy , Jungle Madness has you covered.

The soft play centre in Donisthorpe in North West Leicestershire has just re-launched its summer beach for 2019 - and this year it has been extended.

In a post on Facebook, Jungle Madness said: "The Jungle Team has been working hard to get this ready for the summer of 2019.

"Our beach is now officially open for the summer! Please check on Facebook, as the the beach is open weather permitting.
