A collision is causing major delays on the M1 to the north of the county this morning while queues are reported close to Leicester too.

There are more than 80-minute queues on the motorway in Derbyshire according to reports.

Traffic information company Inrix says there are delays between junction 27 for Hucknall and junction 26 for Nottingham and Eastwood on the southbound carriageway, heading towards Leicestershire.

One lane is currently closed and it's being reported that there are about three miles of queues.

According to Inrix, three cars are involved in the accident.

In Leicestershire, there are also delays reported as we head towards rush hour.

Queueing traffic is reported on the M1 southbound from Junction 22 at Coalville to Junction 21 for the M69 and Leicester.

Accident cleared

The accident has now cleared and all lanes are now open.

Due to the amount of traffic, it still could take time for traffic levels to return to normal.
