Josh Knight’s first-half header secured just a second win in eight Premier League 2 games for Leicester City Under-23s tonight.
The talented defender nodded in from close range to secure a 1-0 win for the young Foxes at Brighton & Hove Albion.
It was a second goal in two games for Knight, who followed up the winner against Sparta Prague B two weeks ago with another at the Amex Elite Football Performance Centre.
The win moved Steve Beaglehole’s men up to sixth in Division One, and now just a point behind Brighton.

What a chance for Ostigard!
Normann puts the ball into the box and it falls to Ostigard, 10 yards out, but his effort is fairly central and beaten away by Johansson.

Decent strike by Shade, just over 20 yards from goal, right footed and rising - but Button watches it all the way and saves.

Ostigard gets his name taken by the referee. Seems the Brighton man was unhappy about a free-kick being awarded to Leicester.

Dewsbury-Hall whips a corner in that Johnson climbs highest to. It’s a free header but it bounces down and goes wide.

Leshabela picks the ball up outside the box, tries to shift it out of his feet and hits a low effort but it is straight at Button.

Cox gets in a shooting position on the left side of the box. His drilled strike is well saved by Johansson and hits the lurking Gyokeres, who is about four yards out.
The ball is heading towards goal but Benalouane gets back brilliantly to clear off the line. Excellent defending.
Any more contact from Gyokeres and that’s 1-1.

Benalouane shown a yellow card - harshly - after winning a sliding tackle.
His studs were slightly up, but the challenge was in no way dangerous.

Another opening for Leicester as Dewsbury-Hall’s free-kick isn’t cleared properly and Johnson tries to slam an effort at goal but it is deflected behind.
The following corner comes to nothing as Brighton win a free-kick.

Dreyer is sent through and he’s in the box. He cuts the ball across to the on-rushing Gyokeres, about 15 yards out, but he drills his effort over the top.

It’s been coming - and Leicester lead.
Good work by Johnson on the right forced a corner. Dewsbury-Hall whipped it in and Benalouane got a flick-on at the near post. The ball made its way to Knight and the back post who had the simple task of heading home.

After a slow start from the Foxes, they are well in the ascendancy now.

Dewsbury-Hall whips a left-footed free-kick into the box. It is half cleared by the Brighton defence to Benalouane who, inside the box, lashes his strike over the top.

Muskwe shows his willingness to get in down the right channel. He gets on the end of Ughelumba’s ball and drives a low ball into the box which just flashes across the face.
