STRIKER'S BIG DECISION PAYS OFF

Leicester City continue to benefit from striker Jamie Vardy's decision to call time on his England career, says manager Brendan Rodgers.

Vardy scored seven goals in 26 appearances for England after his first call up five years ago before making the decision to all-but retire from international football after the 2018 World Cup.

He wanted to focus on his club commitments with Leicester and he also admitted travelling, but not playing much, was a factor.

NDIDI'S EURO MESSAGE

The Leicester City squad are ready to face whatever the Premier League throws at them as they prepare for the restart of the season, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has declared.

After more than two months training alone, City have been back at Belvoir Drive as a team for the past fortnight, resuming contact sessions last week.

And while they only have three more weeks to prepare before the campaign resumes on the weekend of June 20-21, Ndidi is confident he and his team-mates are already in the right physical and mental state for their remaining nine league games and push to secure qualification to the Champions League.

CLEARER PICTURE ON STADIUM

Leicester City have given a clearer indication of how many supporters the expanded King Power Stadium will hold, with the new capacity set to be close to 42,000.

City are in the process of redeveloping their ground, with plans drawn up and fans surveyed on what they would like to see improved. The club’s latest accounts show £2.6m was spent on the project up to June 2019.

The work will also see the capacity of the stadium increased, with the East Stand most likely to be developed. LeicestershireLive has previously reported that the capacity at the expanded venue would be in the low 40,000s, and City have now given a clearer picture.

KEY POSITION

Leicester City are searching for a new Under-18s head coach following the retirement of Trevor Peake.

After 17 years with City, Peake is stepping down from his position, having helped Andy King, Liam Moore, Jeff Schlupp, Ben Chilwell, Hamza Choudhury, Harvey Barnes, and others develop from academy prospects to first-team stars.

Now, City are on the hunt for a new coach to oversee the Under-18s, with the role likely to grow in significance with Brendan Rodgers at the helm.
