Leicester City have been linked with a move for Alaves' Ibai Gomez.

Website Sport Witness cite a report in Spanish daily newspaper AS that claims Claude Puel's side have "joined the race" to sign the forward.

They also reckon Leeds United will "return with an offer" for the winger, who operates on the right-wing and has scored three times and set up two goals in La Liga this season.

Gomez and Alaves have made an impressive start to the season and currently sit in fourth place. He featured in their famous last-minute win over Real Madrid in October.

The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has previously turned out for Athletic Bilbao, where he came through the ranks.

Gomez has hit 28 goals and set up 26 in 179 La Liga performances over the course of his career.
