Leicester City have offloaded three fringe players in the last two weeks.

Andy King has departed for Rangers, Islam Slimani joined Monaco  and Adrien Silva has returned to Monaco, all on season-long loan deals.

But who else could depart before the majority of the European transfer windows close on September 2?

We take a look at the likely departures below.

Rachid Ghezzal

It just hasn't gone well for Ghezzal since his move from Monaco last summer.

After a disappointing season, he finds himself a long way down the list both out wide and in the attacking midfield positions.

He could well be loaned out or even sold by the end of the European window having possibly missed out on the 25-man Premier League squad.

Fousseni Diabate

Diabate spent last season on loan with Turkish club Sivasspor and he could well depart again this summer.

The Mali youth international has been nowhere near the City squad and he has almost certainly been left out of the 25-man squad.

Diabate could leave on loan or on a permanent basis now at the age of 23.

Matty James

James will find it a lot more difficult to find a move at this point, being an English player and being unlikely to join a European club.

For that very reason, it's likely, despite not being part of Brendan Rodgers' immediate plans, he has been included in the 25-man squad.

Though, he could follow Andy King in joining a Scottish club before the end of the window.

A stay still seems far more likely at this point.

Papy Mendy

Another of the more unlikely departures includes Papy Mendy, who has accumulated interest from France during this window.

Mendy enjoyed a fine pre-season, but he has still found himself down the pecking order when it comes to the holding midfield role.

Rodgers has started the season with two holding players, but it's likely he will use only one in the long-term, and both Wilfred Ndidi and Hamza Choudhury are ahead of Mendy in the pecking order.

That could see him look elsewhere for regular football, despite likely featuring in the 25-man squad, and French clubs are already interested.

Daniel Amartey

Another player who finds himself a long way down the depth chart is Daniel Amartey.

The Ghanaian offers plenty of versatility, being able to play in midfield and defence, and he did feature in pre-season.

But it doesn't look as though he is part of Rodgers' plans and that could see him depart with a loan deal likely.

There was talk of a move to Fulham late in the English window, but nothing came of it.

Amartey may now have to look for regular football in Europe.
