Leicester City and Monaco could be doing plenty of business this summer after the French club reportedly registered an interest in centre-back Caglar Soyuncu.

City and Monaco are already in talks over the permanent transfer for midfielder Youri Tielemans after the Belgian’s highly-successful loan spell at the King Power Stadium.

In the deal that brought Tielemans to City on loan, Portugese international Adrien Silva headed the other way and he has impressed in the south of France, with a permanent move possible should they avoid relegation to Ligue 2.

Now, Le10Sport report that Monaco are keen on Soyuncu.

The principality club’s boss Leonardo Jardim is said to be a long-time fan of the 22-year-old and two years after first showing interest, they have re-initiated contact.

The Turkish defender joined City in a £19m move from Freiburg last summer but only played eight games in all competitions in his debut season, with Harry Maguire, Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans the preferred options at the back.

There will be even more competition next season when Filip Benkovic returns from a loan spell at Celtic, where he flourished under Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers during his time at Parkhead.

However, there is no suggestion City will sell Soyuncu this summer and after his first appearance under Rodgers, the 4-1 win at Huddersfield, the manager said he would give the centre-back time to fulfil his potential.
