The shortlist has been revealed for the latest Great Food Club Awards - and a number of Leicestershire food and drink businesses are in the running for an accolade.

The Great Food Club exists to champion excellent local food and drink independents in the East Midlands and beyond, and each year runs the Great Food Club Awards.

The club, based in Melton Mowbray, has now revealed the shortlist for 2019/20, and it features some brilliant food and drink businesses based in Leicestershire.

The shortlist was drawn up following a public vote on the Great Food Club website, with the shortlisted businesses receiving the highest number of votes in their respective categories.

Businesses that won GFC awards last year were not eligible to be shortlisted this year, in a bid to ‘share the love’.

Here's the Leicestershire businesses have have made the cut this year.

There are two awards up for grabs in this category – Best Sourdough Loaf and Best Sweet Treats.
