Leicestershire pub the Mill on the Soar has re-opened this week after a huge make-over.

The Hungry Horse pub, at Broughton Astley, closed on February 18 for a £290,000 refurbishment.

It re-launched with a new look on Wednesday, March 6, and, as you can see from the photos, it's looking great.

Changes have included creating a separate family dining area and over 18s bar.

The bar has been extended, due to the carvery counter being removed, and there are now pool tables for customers to enjoy.

In the dining area booths have been removed to create an open-plan space, and the new decor gives the pub more of a 'rustic country dining' feel.

There's new carpets and flooring throughout, and new soft furnishings and decorative touches, such as pictures on the walls.

Overall, it's designed to be a lighter, brighter, more inviting place for customers to spend time.

Outside, new festoon lighting has been added, ready for customers to enjoy the large outdoor area in the warmer months.

As part of the changes, a new menu has been introduced, which features summery dishes such as grilled salmon, southern fried steak sandwich, and chicken parmigiana.

There's also new vegan dishes, including an Asian burger and fish-free fillets.

The pub's daily deals will remain the same - including kids eat for £1 on Monday, big plate specials from £5 on Tuesday, curry and a drink for £5.50 on Wednesday, and free starter or dessert on Thursday.

Families can eat for just £15 between Friday and Sunday, with two adult meals, two children's meals and a pudding to share.

You'll find the Mill on the Soar in Coventry Road, Broughton Astley.
