Delicious-sounding Christmas pies have been launched by Pieminister at The Cookie.

They're an ideal seasonal treat for those who don't fancy a turkey sandwich, or just love pies!

There's four festive flavours to get stuck into, including one vegetarian offering.

Here's the flavours available:

  • Deer Santa - wild British venison, bacon, red wine, and green lentil
  • The Cracker - free range British turkey and ham with cranberries, parsnips and sherry
  • Mistlemoo - British beef steak, bacon and port
  • Christingle (V) - Honey roast parsnips, chestnut, west country cheddar and leek

The cost is £5.50 for a pie and gravy, £7.95 for pie, mash and gravy, and £8.95 for pie, mash, peas and gravy.

For £9.95, you could try the Mothership (pie, mash, peas, gravy, cheese and shallots) and for £12.95, you could take on the Tower of Power, which is the same as the Mothership but includes two pies stacked up!

Pieminister took over the kitchen at The Cookie in June this year.

Pieminster is a national chain of restaurants and can be found at festivals too.

The company has a close link with live music and is starting to work with live music venues, which it says makes it a perfect fit with The Cookie.

You'll find Pieminister at The Cookie in High Street, Leicester.

Opening times are: Monday to Thursday, 12 - 11pm, Friday and Saturday 12pm - 2am, Sunday closed, unless there is an event.
