We all like to post our 'best shots' on Instagram and show them off to the world.

The Leicestershire Live Instragram page showcases pictures taken by photographers, both professional and amateur, across the city and county.

The site gives those that wish to display their images a platform to present their images to a wider audience. With over 16,000 followers on Instagram, Leicestershire Live pictures are seen by many across Leicester and Leicestershire.

Many of the images that are reposted are very popular and get hundreds of likes, and complimentary comments are posted.

However, one picture posted over the weekend had a mixed reaction.

Instgrammer @bhaveshb_92 posted a picture of Leicester Market with the Milky Way in the background.

Leicestershire Live reposted the image, and received many comments, not all of them complimentary.

Instagrammer @gobeckpro said: "You must have some extremely expensive equipment, didn't think you could get the milky way that clear with all the light pollution"

@seifnn added: "This is not possible..I can bet this photo is fake..Leicester City and he found a way to capture the Milky Way galaxy?"

While @partht_photography said: "I would say this is nice if you are experimenting with photography but this photo shouldn't be on this page because if this page is all about showcasing Leicester and Leicesteershire for the beautiful city/county it is, the photos should bring out the beauty of the city/county without the need for heavy editing."

There were some positive comments, too. @lou_lou_321 said: "Wow beautiful", while @speshawaria commented: "Great shot".

We spoke to Bhavesh Borkhataria about the image. He said: "The image was approached differently using two images, an actual capture of Leicester Market as the foreground, with the use of the Milky Way from another source as the background so it can be 'merged' together using photoshop.

"It was then given a warm touch of colour and contrast via Lightroom to give it that awesome look during its beginning of nightfall."

"Maybe the general dislike from people came from the way I approached it because it's impossible to capture it in real-time in the middle of the city?

"Some also like it perhaps? Either way, I see reviews as a way to improve - and many would see it as the rest of the contents are all originally captured."

At the time of writing, the image had 377 likes.
