Wells adds to growing rugby CV

Leicester Tigers forward Harry Wells has taken another step in preparing for life after his playing career after picking up a new qualification.

The 25-year-old Tigers Academy graduate – who made 29 appearances in Leicester colours last season – picked up his Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Rugby Union earlier this week.

The qualification is accredited by the UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) and comes in addition to Wells’ studies to become a Personal Trainer as well as training to become a rugby referee.

Delighted to have finally finished my Level 3 🏉

“Coaching is something I’m interested in pursuing as a career after I’ve finished playing, so to lay the groundwork now is something I feel is important,” he said.

“It’s been really good to work on something like this alongside my own rugby.”

And Wells has been getting experience outside of the classroom too, putting his skills into practice at Leicester Lions RFC in Blaby as well as coaching the University of Leicester’s men’s side to consecutive Varsity victories at Welford Road.

He continued: “Coaching at Leicester Lions last season was a great experience, and I learned a lot from it; both for my own development as a coach, and in offering up a different perspective on things as a player.

“The whole thing has been a great learning experience for me.”
