Preston woman suffers 'serious injuries' after car crashes into lamp post in Osbaldeston

A 23-year-old woman from Preston suffered "several serious injuries" and was taken to hospital following a collision in Osbaldeston.

A black BMW car was travelling towards Preston on Longsight Road, Osbaldeston, when it collided with a lamp post at around 2.50am today (May 27).

The car overturned, leaving a passenger in the BMW, a 23-year-old woman from Preston, with "serious" injuries.

She suffered injuries to her chest, face and fingers and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man from Preston, suffered fractured ribs.

Police are now appealing for information following the incident.

Sgt David Hurst, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: "We are keen to speak to any witnesses following a collision in Osbaldeston today.

"A woman has suffered several serious injuries and we want to establish exactly what happened.

"If you saw the collision or the vehicle described in the moments leading up to the collision please contact us."
