FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Monday, several Democrats from the state House have planned to announce the pre-filing of Executive Branch and election-oriented bills in Frankfort.

LEX 18 was told that the three new bills will address the use of state airplanes and other taxpayer-funded equipment, as well as strengthen pre- and post-campaign laws for constitutional offices.

Gov. Matt Bevin's use of state airplanes have recently been called to attention. It was the theme of an ad released by the Democratic Governors' Association a few weeks ago.

In September, Bevin released details on most of the trips, including destination and reason for the visit, but some other flights are still not listed.

Bevin has argued that if he reimbursed the state for the cost of the flights he does not have to reveal the purpose.

According to Bevin's social media, he will be in Jackson County on Monday for a community forum.

Back in Frankfort, a news conference has been scheduled for 1 p.m. at the capitol building for the new ethics and election-oriented bills.
