FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — One of the men accused in the murder of a Frankfort woman is scheduled for a change of plea in court on Wednesday.

Billy Turner is charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Officials said that Turner is connected to the death of Meg Smith, 39, of Frankfort.

Smith was found dead in her home in June of 2018.

A second suspect, Derek Garten, led police on a several day manhunt, which ended with a standoff in Lexington.

Garten was taken into custody without incident and is also facing murder charges.

Turner is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday around 1 p.m.
