A company has apologised after one of its delivery drivers crashed into a parked car on a Lincoln street and left without leaving any details.

The driver, who is employed by ArrowXL, smashed into the car while driving along Victoria Street in Lincoln just after 6pm on Tuesday, March 19.

But rather than get out and leave a note with his details, the driver got back into the van drove away from the scene.

The incident was witnessed by a neighbour, who said the car that was damaged is used by a woman with a disability.

“I heard a huge crash outside my window so I got up to have a look,” said the neighbour, who didn’t want to be named.

“I saw the delivery driver frantically looking around the car before realising what he had done.

“He jumped back in his cab and sped off.

“To make matters worse the lady driving the car didn’t own it. It was her disability car. Her dad came and picked her up around 10pm.”

The incident is said to have caused considerable damage to the car.

“The woman has made contact with the company," the neighbour added.

“Whether they have officially written it off I’m not sure but looking at the damage it left there definitely wasn’t anyway of fixing it.”

ArrowXL, a two-man home delivery service across the UK for 25 years, has said it has spoken with the woman and is arranging to fix the damage.

An ArrowXL spokesperson said: “We were made aware of this minor incident at the time and our insurers are dealing with the owner of the damaged car.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
