Pictures have emerged of a two-vehicle crash that has been causing delays around Lincoln.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident at around 9.47am after reports of the incident on Hawthorn Road on Friday, March 22.

A blue Volvo and a black BMW were involved in the crash.

Firefighters were forced to cut open the Volvo involved in the crash after a passenger became trapped inside.

One person was subsequently rushed to hospital.

Images from the scene show that the vehicle had its roof and all four doors removed in a bid to rescue the person.

Hawthorn Road was blocked in both directions while the emergency services were on the scene.

The person's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The incident has been causing disruption to Stagecoach East Midlands services in the area.
