Firefighters were scrambled after a car went up in flames close to a school.

A crew from Holbeach was called to Park Road in the town at 8.47am yesterday morning, Monday, March 25, where the vehicle was found to be on fire.

A video of the scene showed a car with flames shooting out of the boot.

The site of the car fire is listed as being at University Academy Holbeach, according to a post on the Spaldinium Facebook page - but this has not been confirmed.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the fire was on Park Road - the same as the school - but did not specify an exact location.

The fire was extinguished using one hose reel and two breathing apparatus.
