Lincoln City players past and present have turned out in support of one of their former coach's partner's business.

Current City skipper Lee Frecklington and former Imps players Paul Farman and Terry Hawkridge were among the guests at the launch of ex goalkeeping coach Jimmy Walker's girlfriend, Donna Atkinson, new salon.

Queen D's Beauty opened in Burton Road in Lincoln on February 6.

And the footballers and their partners were more than happy to show their support for Ms Atkinson's new venture.

She said: "I've been doing this for ten years now and I used to work at the Hot Chocolate Studio in Lincoln.

"I built up such a big client base and went self employed three years ago.

"Things have gone pretty quickly and I wanted to move into my own premises this year.

""I went on right move earlier in the year and things have moved so fast."

Donna Atkinson is opening her own beauty salon called Queen D's Beauty in Burton Road, Lincoln.

Ms Atkinson offers a range of treatments, from, spray tans, eyelashes and gel nails.

She also plans to hire two new members of staff in the coming weeks and hopes to offer even more treatments.

She said: "I've got plans to have more staff starting soon, and I have a lady who'll be starting in March doing botox and fillers.

"It's been crazy since we opened it's been none stop.

"Since opening day I've had 77 clients in less than a week which is brilliant.

"The day itself was great we had people popping in all day to wish me luck and to have a look round."

The business has moved pretty quickly in recent months but it comes after years of hard work building up a large client list.

The salon is open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday and has high hopes for the future.

Queen D's salon also offers customers a complimentary glass of prosecco for all customers that would like one.

She said: "Obviously it's too early to say but I'd love to open more salons across Lincoln, it's a case of who knows what will happen."

Donna was joined by partner Mr Walker, who was keen to get involved with the treatment himself.

Former Imps goalkeeper Paul Farman was keen to get in the booth for a spray tan while Jimmy passes him a thong to protect his modesty.

He said: "I had a great couple of years at Lincoln and it was great to see some of the lads come down with their partners.

"It was good to have a catch up with some of the lads who I was closest to at the time and it was good for their partners to come along and see what treatments they could get at the salon.

"Paul Farman got stuck in and had a spray tan and I had one afterwards.

As Jimmy sprayed the champagne former goalkeeper Paul Farman was ready for a spray tan !

"I got a lot of stick for a photo that Donna put up online and a couple of the lads called me David Dickinson, but it was great to see them come down and give a little bit of support.

"Donna is born and bred in Lincoln and I call it home now so it's great to see Donna get a place where she can run her business from.

"Her client base is so large now and it's great to see her doing well."
