CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston City Council passed an emergency ordinance to extend a 12-hour curfew into Monday evening.

The curfew, which covers the Charleston Peninsula, begins at 6 p.m. Monday and continues until 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

Earlier today, the city of North Charleston, the town of Summerville, Berkeley County and unincorporated Dorchester county passed similar curfews, though Berkeley County’s begins at at 8 p.m. rather than 6 p.m.
