Indian Railways will start the first commercial run of the second Vande Bharat Express from 05 October. The train which will operate between New Delhi and Katra will be flagged of by Home Minister Amit Shah on 03 October on its inaugural run.

The train will operate six days from New Delhi except on Tuesday and is numbered 22439.
The train will also operate six days from Katra except on Tuesday and is numbered 22440.
- Composition of the Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express
The train set will consit of 16 coaches and it will have two driver car, two executive coaches and 12 AC chair car coaches
- 22439 Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express timings and stoppages
The Vande Bharat Express (22439) will leave New Delhi at 0600 hrs and will arrive at Ambala Cantt Junction at 0810 hrs. It will have a stoppage time of two minutes.
The train will stop next at Ludhiana Junction where it will arrive at 0919 hrs and depart at 0921 hrs. The third and final stoppage before reaching Katra will be at Jammu Tawi where it will arrive at 1238 hrs and depart at 1240 hrs. The train will reach its final destination at Katra at 1400 hrs.
- 22440 Katra-Delhi Vande Bharat Express timings and stoppages
The train will begin its return journey from Katra to New Delhi on the same day. It will depart from Katra at 1500hrs. The super fast train will then arrive at Jammu Tawi at 1613hrs and depart at 1615hrs.
The train will then stop at Ludhiana Junction at 1932 hrs and depart at 1934hrs. The next stoppage will be at Ambala Cant Junction from 2048hrs and leave at 2050hrs. The train will finally reach New Delhi at 2300hrs.
The distance between New Delhi and Katra is 655 kilometers which the train will cover in eight hours. The Vande Bharat Express will run at 130 kmph between New Delhi and Katra.

The fare of Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express will be ₹1,630.00 in AC chair car between New Delhi and Katra. If one is travelling in Executive Chair Car, then the fare will be ₹3,015.

The fare of Katra-Delhi Vande Bharat Express will be ₹1570 between Katra and New Delhi. The fare of Executive Chair Car will be ₹2,965.

The new Vande Bharat Express train will be slightly modified then the first Vande Bharat Express which operates between New Delhi and Varanasi.
According to railway officials, the new train will have more comfortable seats which will be provide a more comfortable ride to the passengers.
The new Vande Bharat express has windows with a special provision to protect against stone-pelting and a cattle guard in the front to prevent damage to the train or derailment in case of cattle run

The new Vande Bharat Express will also have a more spacious space in the pantry compared to the first Vande Bharat Express.
The first Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Delhi-Varanasi route.
