Liverpool have confirmed they will provide refunds for season ticket holders and anyone who has purchased a ticket for the campaign's remaining Premier League games at Anfield.

The Reds are waiting to discover when top flight football will resume, with action having been suspended since March 13 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Should the season be played out to a completion, games will be played behind closed doors.

Liverpool announced last month that supporters who had purchased a ticket for any of the remaining four home matches - against Crystal Palace, Burnley, Aston Villa and Chelsea - will be able to receive a refund if the games were cancelled or went ahead without fans.

And now the club have released details of the process of how supporters - including those who bought a ticket for the Liverpool Women's game against Everton at Goodison - will be recompensed.

Season ticket holders will receive a full pro rata refund for all remaining home games, while members who have purchased tickets on a match-by-match basis will receive a refund for the tickets they have purchased.

The same applies to hospitality season tickets and those who have purchased individual tickets for matchday hospitality.

Supporters who do not fall into any of these groups but have purchased a match ticket for any of the remaining fixtures will receive a full refund.

Liverpool will contact each affected ticket holder over the next 14 days to provide more information on the refund process.

The Palace and Villa games had already sold out, with the Reds now likely to lose around £12million in matchday revenue.

Fans who bought tickets for the Liverpool Legends game against Barcelona - which was scheduled to take place at Anfield in March - are to be contacted separately by the club.
