Liverpool to learn fate in latest Premier League meeting

A video conference meeting scheduled for later today could establish whether Liverpool’s push for the Premier League title will resume.

Having received the all-clear last week to resume group training, top-flight clubs will next vote on resuming contact training, which would represent a major step towards resuming the season.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are 25 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, and two more wins from nine remaining fixtures would end a 30-year wait for the title.

There are set to be more discussions on Thursday with regards to specific logistical arrangements for rescheduled fixtures next month.

Here are all the details

Kylian Mbappe lavishes praise on Liverpool amid transfer speculation

PSG striker Kylian Mbappe has said he has admiration for what Liverpool have done this season, praising Klopp’s team for their relentless pace in the Premier League.

A shock 3-0 defeat to Watford ended hopes of an unbeaten league campaign, but Liverpool could still go on to break Man City’s record tally of 100 points, having won 27 of 29 matches so far.

That form hasn’t gone unnoticed by Mbappe, who has been linked with a move to Anfield after originally being scouted in 2017.

“This season, Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League,” he told The Mirror.

“They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.

“Performances like they have been having don’t just happen.

“To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager.”

Academy starlet Paul Glatzel makes significant step towards return

Academy star Paul Glatzel is making significant progress on a return after the horror injury he suffered last summer.

The Liverpool-born striker, who has German parents, played a significant role in the Under-18s’ Youth Cup triumph last season, but his progress was significantly stunted when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a pre-season friendly against Tranmere in July.

Glatzel was seen at Melwood over the weekend running and doing work with the ball, a positive development in his recovery from the major setback.

The teenager is highly-regarded at Liverpool, having been in prolific form for the Under-18s last season, netting 28 goals.
