Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold plans to put the money earned from a new multi-million pound boot deal back into the local economy on Merseyside.
The 20-year-old is set to sign a new four-year agreement with Under Armour, making it the second highest boot sponsorship in the England squad behind Tottenham star Harry Kane.
The fresh terms reflect Alexander-Arnold's rise over the last two years that have seen him go from young hopeful to fully-fledged first-team star and England international.
However, while the contract is set to earn the young right-back millions over the next four years, the ECHO understands the £6.4m figure that has been previously reported is wide of the market.
The West Derby-born defender's on-field progress was also rewarded with a brand new Liverpool contract back in January and the imminent Under Armour deal underlines the commercial worth of Alexander-Arnold's current status in English football.
It is understood that Alexander-Arnold is aiming to use the figures from the deal to purchase land and build facilities such as football pitches for communities across Liverpool.
Alexander-Arnold and his representatives will look into purchasing the specific plots of land during the summer months, but plans are already in place to improve certain areas across the city with the money from the Under Armour contract.
Alexander-Arnold is arguably the most high-profile Liverpool-born Academy graduate since Steven Gerrard burst onto the scene over 20 years ago.
And the Reds full-back hopes the funding for pitches will one day help unearth more local players capable of making the grade at Anfield.
“I'm just fortunate to play for my boyhood club and for people to be able to see that dreams can come true," he told the ECHO back in November last year. "Hopefully the younger people in the city see it too.
"I saw Gerrard and [Jamie] Carragher do it when I was young. I always wanted to be them. The aim is for more young Scousers to come through the Academy and do the same."
Alexander-Arnold was forced to withdrawn from England duty on Wednesday after it was revealed he had been playing through the pain barrier since the 4-2 win at home to Burnley on March 10.
The youngster was substituted late on during the victory at Anfield, but bravely fought on to help the Reds achieve important wins over Bayern Munich and Fulham to keep the Reds' hopes of a Premier League and Champions League double on track.
A back injury will be assessed by the club's medical staff upon his return from the England set-up, although it is not believed that he is a doubt for Liverpool's upcoming matches at this stage.
