The first phase of Marcel Brands and Marco Silva's Everton revolution was a success.

Faced with a number of challenges in the transfer market last summer, Brands and Silva came up trumps. Richarlison, Lucas Digne and Bernard were brought in on permanent deals and have all since made a big impression.

Silva will be keen to build his team around the trio, and the Blues have handed them long-term deals to match. The same can be said of Jordan Pickford, and Everton will likely pursue permanent moves for Kurt Zouma and Andre Gomes this summer.

Added to which, Brands will already have his eye on a number of youth prospects already with the club, and will likely try to buy young players to compliment the talent coming through at Finch Farm.

So, minus the signings to come, how could Everton's squad look in four years time? We've taken a closer look:

GOALKEEPER

Everton have placed a lot of faith in Jordan Pickford, signing him from Sunderland in a club-record deal, and then handing the former Sunderland man a fresh contract in September that saw him tie his future to Goodison Park until 2024.

In reserve, there are high hopes for Joao Virginia, the Portuguese goalkeeper who joined Everton in the summer, after an excellent first season with the Blues.

DEFENDERS

There could be a lot of change in Everton's backline in the coming years, but two players who are certainly part of the Blues long-term thinking are Michael Keane and Yerry Mina.

Keane's current deal runs until 2022 and fellow big money signing Mina's lasts until 2023. Whether Kurt Zoumajoins on a permanent deal remains to be seen.

Elsewhere, Lucas Digne also has a deal until 2023 and is expected to fill the left-back berth for years to come.

Mason Holgate could yet return to Everton and has a deal until 2022, the same year as Jonjoe Kenny's current contract.

Seamus Coleman's deal runs until 2022 - at which point the Irishman will be 33 - and while you wouldn't bet against him being a part of the team, it's fair to say he will then be past his prime.

Everton have a number of youth prospects who could then be a part of the first-team set-up. Big things are expected from Lewis Gibson, and the likes of Morgan Feeneypromise much.

MIDFIELDERS

Everton's midfield come 2023 is something of a mystery. Andre Gomes is not yet a permanent player while Idrissa Gueye asked to leave the club in January.

Morgan Schneiderlin and James McCarthy also face uncertain futures.

Tom Davies has a contract until 2022 and while he's had his ups and downs with Everton, at just 20 he still could well be a fixture in midfield in four years time.

The same could be said of Gylfi Sigurdsson, whose contract also runs until 2022, but he will be 33 in four years.

Bernard's current deal lasts until 2022, but should he build on an exciting first season with the club, Everton are likely to build the team around him in years to come.

Josh Bowler is an exciting young player, as is Nathangelo Markelo. Anthony Gordon is younger but still very highly rated by the Everton hierarchy.

And let's not forget some of the current crop out on loan, with the likes of Joe Williams and Beni Baningime still having years ahead of them in their development.

ATTACKERS

With a £40m transfer fee and a contract until 2023, expect Everton to build the attack around Richarlison.

Added to which, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose own deal lasts until the same year, is starting to realise his vast promise.

The likes of Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun will most likely to have departed the club by then.

Marcel Brands is expected to look for young talent to supplement Everton's attack this summer, but he will also be aware of the starlets already plying their trade at Finch Farm.

One such player is Ellis Simms, an accomplished goalscorer at youth level. Others such as Fraser Horney and Bassala Sambou could also have big futures at Everton.
