Liverpool continue to be linked with a host of players, as Jurgen Klopp mulls over whether to strengthen his squad when the transfer window opens.

As fresh rumours about the potential new arrivals on Merseyside continue to surface, we have taken a look at the latest pieces of gossip to see what they could mean for the Reds.

And some big names and top clubs are involved...

Who?

Thomas Meunier of Paris Saint-Germain

Where?

According to reports in France, the Reds have entered the race to sign the Belgian right-back this summer.

It has been claimed by Le10Sport that Liverpool have registered an interest in Meunier with the player’s agent, with his deal at Paris due to expire this summer.

Fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for the 28-year-old.

What?

Liverpool already have arguably the most talented right-back in world football with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Reds are also blessed with quality coming through the Kirkby Academy, with Neco Williams the latest youngster to break into the first-team.

Given that Meunier would want regular football, a move to Anfield may appear somewhat strange with Alexander-Arnold first-choice.

Klopp always like to give youth players a chance when possible, and the signing of Meunier could hamper Williams’ progress.

Who ?

Adama Traore of Wolverhampton Wanderers

Where?

It has been reported that a senior figure at Barcelona is 'furious' at rumours circling of Liverpool’s interest in the Wolves forward.

The Reds have been tentatively linked with a move for Spain Under-21 international, who cost Wolves £18m two summers ago.

Spanish outlet Don Balon  (via Caught Offside) say Barca club president Josep Bartomeu is 'pulling his hair out' at the idea of Traore joining Liverpool.

Traore left the Nou Camp to join Aston Villa in 2015, before leaving to join Middlesbrough and later Wolves.

What?

It is been said in several quarters of Liverpool’s need to strengthen their forward areas to provide back-up to the potent front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

While the rumours linking Traore have been quite speculative up to this point, he is not the only wide forward to be linked with a move to Anfield.

The likes of Kylian Mbappe and Jadon Sancho have both been tentatively linked with the Reds, and a winger appears to be the type of player who Klopp could add to his squad when the transfer window reopens.

Klopp hailed Traore earlier this season, describing him as "unplayable in moments, it’s unbelievable."

And Traore in return said the Reds were the "best in Europe".

Traore's agent believes there could still be a "market" for his client this summer - but rumoured fees could be difficult in the current climate.

Who?

Nuno Mendes, a left-back with Sporting Lisbon.

Where?

According to Portuguese news outlet A Bola, Liverpool are preparing an offer for Mendes, but face competition for his signature from old foes Manchester United.

The report states that is is unclear at this point how much Liverpool are prepared to offer Sporting to sign the 18-year-old, but is appears left-back is an area that the Reds are keen to strengthen.

Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka has also been linked with the Reds, with the teenager contracted at the Emirates until the summer of 2021.

What?

Andy Robertson is the Reds’ first choice left-back, but should the Scotland skipper be unavailable then the options to Klopp are somewhat sparse.

James Milner has been deployed there in his unfavoured position, but has still performed heroically in such games like the second half of the 4-0 win over Barcelona.

A back-up to Robertson could be a viable option when the transfer window reopens, but whether Mendes at just 18 would settle for a bit-part role remains to be seen.
