Liverpool is filled with coffee shops, restaurants and cafes but there is one in particular which has got everyone talking.

Located close to Liverpool's business district, Lucy in the Sky not only serves a selection of food and hot drinks but also offers its customers the opportunity to take an Instagram worthy picture too, thanks to its decor.

It is owned by 37-year-old Lucy Jeffers, who was inspired to open the coffee shop having watch her mum, Margie Boden, 76 run Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, based at Cavern Walks, for 20 years.

Lucy said: "It's my Mum really, she still comes into the coffee shop and helps out and is always chatting away to customers and I think that is what people on TripAdvisor really like.

"She is the driving force behind the review. We're a family run business and are independent. We make sure we only stock independent brands too.

"Our coffee supplier is based in Vauxhall and our cakes are from Three Graces, which has a still at the Baltic Market.

"My Mum closed her Cavern Walks cafe around 12 years ago, but we've still had people coming in saying they're happy we are back and asking if my Dad is still making the coleslaw."

Lucy in the Sky opened just under a year ago and already TripAdvisor is filled with praise for its "lovely atmosphere", "incredibly good" breakfast and some have described it as a "hidden gem".

Lucy and the Sky can be found at Imperial Court, close to Exchange Flags and serves a variety of sandwiches, toasties, baked potatoes and soups.

Its counter is also filled with a selection of cakes.

It also has a celebrity following too with footballer Wayne Rooney pictured enjoying a coffee at Lucy in the Sky.

Lucy added: "I lived in Australia for a bit and they are coffee mad over there so I wanted to bring this to Liverpool.

"I chose this location as I have children so I didn't want to serve alcohol and I think sometimes the closer you are to the city centre you need to serve it.

"We tend to be really busy early in the morning and at lunchtimes because it will be workers from the area, so it would be nice to be busier. But it is lovely to see how much people are loving us."
