A MAN suffered broken bones and a dislocated ankle, after he was punched to the ground following an unprovoked attack.

A 44-year-old man and his friend were walking towards the train station in Station Approach in Wokingham on Sunday, March 10.

At around 1 am, the pair arrived outside the Station Tap, when the victim was randomly attacked by a man.

The man swung at the victim, punching him to the ground, leaving the victim with broken bones and a dislocated ankle.

The victim was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital where he required surgery and is now recovering, safe at home.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the incident in Wokingham.

The offender is described as white, 6ft tall and aged 25 to 30 years old.

He was wearing blue jeans and a dark coloured jacket.

Investigating officer PC Lucy Williams, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this assault in which the victim was punched by a man in a seemingly unprovoked attack.

“A punch caused the victim to fall in such a manner that he injured his leg. If you have any information about what happened or who is responsible, please contact police.”
